About the fibre

Staple length: 100mm. Micron count 32-34

Medium to Medium-coarse

Industrially, Dorset Horn wool is especially sought for bedding products. This wool grows densely, with a good bouncy crimp; it is delightful to spin with.

Natural white.

Each bag contains 100g of wool.

Origin: United Kingdom

About the breed

The Dorset Horn is a rare breed of British sheep, once endangered, but as of 2007 its conservation status is "not at risk."

Although not officially established as a recognized breed until the 1890's, Dorset Horn sheep are believed to be one of the oldest de facto breeds in Britain. They are highly adaptable to different environments, but are mainly raised in the southwestern corner of England.
